GENERAL SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager of Lease, Rental and Fleet. The Area Sales Representative is responsible for selling and supporting our products to leasing, rental and end user fleets, with specific focus on sales generation and client relationship management within the assigned district territory.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Sales and Lead Generation
- Prospecting, Identifying and targeting potential leasing & rental representatives, end user fleets for business opportunities. Initiating cold calls, emails, and networking to generate new leads.
- Scheduling and delivering presentations or demos to prospective clients, showcasing how MAXON products meet their specific needs.
- Consistently following up with prospects to move opportunities through the pipeline and ensure engagement.
Client Relationship Building
- Holding regular meetings (both in-person and virtual) with existing and potential clients to discuss their needs, provide product updates, and build long-term relationships.
- Providing after-sales support, ensuring client satisfaction, resolving any issues, and looking for opportunities to upsell or cross-sell.
- Being the main point of contact for clients, fostering trust and ensuring they view you as a partner rather than just a vendor.
Pipeline Management and Reporting
- CRM management: Regularly updating the SugarCRM system with new leads, client interactions, monthly scheduling, sales progress, and follow-up tasks.
- Sales reporting, opportunity management, and target tracking progress from initial contact to closing.
Strategic Planning
- Creating and refining sales strategies to penetrate the fleet leasing market more effectively. This could involve targeting specific regions, industries, or types of companies.
- Keeping up with competitors' offerings and strategizing how to differentiate our product in the market.
- Analyzing market trends, industry shifts, and customer behavior to adjust sales tactics accordingly.
Negotiation and Closing Deals
- Engaging in contract discussions with potential clients, negotiating terms, pricing, and warranty agreements.
- Addressing objections or concerns raised by potential clients and offering tailored solutions.
- Driving the opportunity toward closure, managing the final stages of the sales process, and ensuring all stakeholders are aligned.
Product Knowledge and Training
- Continuously learning about MAXON & Competitor product updates, new features, or changes to products and effectively communicate MAXON’s value proposition and benefits to clients.
- Educating Lease Representatives in product training sessions, ensuring they understand and can articulate, the product benefits and features confidently to their prospects and clients.
Travel and Client Visits
- Traveling to client locations or industry conferences to conduct face-to-face meetings or presentations.
- Participating in networking events, trade shows, and conferences to represent the company, gather insights, and generate new leads.
Client Support and Issue Resolution
- Acting as a bridge between clients and MAXON Team to resolve product or service issues and ensure client satisfaction.
- Managing escalated client issues, ensuring quick resolution in coordination with the customer support team.
Customer Entertainment
- Entertaining clients, hosting dinners, attending sporting events, or organizing recreational activities to foster stronger relationships, while maintaining reasonable appropriate, ethical, and compliant behavior.
- Entertainment should align with strategic sales efforts, supporting pipeline advancement and align with return on investment potential.
- Be conscious of client entertainment policy elements, limits and restrictions
Administrative Tasks
- Create tailored proposals, product presentations, quotations and SugarCRM documentation.
- Managing travel and entertainment budget, submitting expense reimbursement for travel, meetings, and other sales-related activities.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
Communication/Interface:
Daily interaction and communication with customers, MAXON management and team members, to include sales, executive, marketing, and operational departments.
DECISION-MAKING AND PROBLEM-SOLVING:
Makes informed decisions independently and/or collaboratively, by collecting all the relevant information, analyzing solutions using policy, and acting promptly in the best interest of MAXON.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Strong knowledge of sales and business and relationship management as typically gained through a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, SugarCRM and some EPICOR functions.

- Must be proactive, highly motivated and collaborative. Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously with an eye for detail.

- Ability to self-start, work independently and accomplish assignments without supervision.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work to be conducted in remote based office, and primarily off-site at client locations. Substantial travel is required (70%)
